I’ve never been more excited about a Pop Shop Workshop! This month we’re moving the workshop to the Art Studio of local artist Anat Ronen. Anat Ronen’s studio is right down the street from our usual spot, TXRX Labs Makerspace, and her studio is absolutely gorgeous!
Anat Ronen is known for narrative paintings and large murals that can be seen around the world. You can see her murals at Klein Oak High School and Blackshear Elementary in Houston in addition to London, Florida, Columbia and more.
So why are we moving to Anat Ronen’s Studio?
While TXRX Labs makes a couple of upgrades to their awesome makerspace, we are lucky enough to be in the pleasure of good company. Last year, we hosted 2 events at Bohemeo’s – Witchcraft & The Spring Magic Art Market. We work with Chocolate Wasted Ice Cream at every Pop Shop America event. If you’ve ever had ice cream from at our event it was from Chocolate Wasted!
You may remember Lizbeth Ortiz’s gorgeous flower wall that was on view at the last Pop Shop Houston Festival. Lizbeth is the gallery director of East End Studio Gallery. So what does Anat Ronen, East End Studio Gallery, Bohemeo’s, and Chocolate Wasted all have in common?
They are all neighbors!
That makes this Friday nights workshop one of the most special we have ever hosted. During the workshop, we will walk across the street to join East End Studio Gallery’s closing reception for the exhibition Back to Earth: Contemporary Ceramic Art.
Every month we feature a new and fun cocktail but this month we’ll be using Chocolate Wasted’s delicious handcrafted ice creams to make a special Rum Boozy Ice Cream Cocktail!
All of this is in addition to the seasonal and ever changing small bites by Greenhouse Catering Company, listening to music, making leather jewelry for both guys and gals including cuff links, earrings, brooches and lapel pins, and a leather bracelet too.
You are always welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks but the gallery visit, cocktails, and small bites are all included in your workshop fee!
