Join Pop Shop Houston and The Houston Public Libraries for Books Alive! A Celebration of Children’s Books and Reading. This is a family friendly that is free to attend. There will be so much to do! Author of The Adventures of Beekle award winning illustrated children’s book will be reading and hosting an art contest. There will be books for sale and lots of books to read and look at.
Pop Shop Houston will be hosting free crafting for kids too. Make your own felt monsters that are cute and scary! We’ll have all the supplies and know how to help your kids walk away with a finished creation. There will also be flip books, a bouncy house, and a shark rainbow. I don’t know what a shark rainbow is but I can’t wait to see it!

About the Author
Dan Santat is the author and illustrator of several children’s books including the Caldecott Medal winner Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend, Guild of Geniuses and illustrated the popular Ricky Ricotta’s Mighty Robot series. Santat also created the Disney Channel animated series The Replacements and works with clients such as Wall Street Journal, Esquire, Village Voice, GQ Russia, Macworld, Macy’s and many others. His work has appeared at gallery shows, including the I Am 8 Bit art show. Santat lives in California with his wife Leah and two sons.
