This handmade Ankylosaurus Dinosaur Brooch is such a great accessory for a dino lover. It’s handmade from beautifully cut pieces of leather shaped into a dinosaur head. It’s created by visual artist Jason Villegas, a mixed media sculptor that has exhibited at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Nevada Museum of Art, Okay Mountain Austin, and more.
This Ankylosaurus Dinosaur Brooch is artfully crafted in leather using suede, snakeskin style patterns, and other patterns. The brooch has a soft suede back and a silver pin so that you can attach it you dress, t-shirt, backpack, or anything else. This brooch is about almost 3 1/4 inches across and 2 3/4 inches tall and shaped in a really cool way. The ankylosaurus is a lot rounder than some of the other dinosaur brooches that we carry. The ankylosaurus has a plated shield head and he is super cute. This brooch comes in 2 different colors: one is navy with mahogany brown. The other is gray with lighter brown accents. Ankylosaurus is a type of thyreophoran dinosaur that lived at the very end of the Cretaceous period 66 to 68 million years ago. It was one of the last non-flying dinosaurs and is known for it’s strong hammer tail. It’s whole body was plated which, along side it’s hammer tail, helped the Ankylosaurus defend itself.
We carry other leather Dinosaur Brooches by Jason Villegas that you can find here in the Pop Shop America online boutique.
