Wood Block Photo Transfer Art Class
Hosted by Pop Shop America Modern Crafts
July 1st 7pm – 9pm
at TXRX Labs Hackerspace in the Art Building
203 Roberts Houston, TX 77003
In this art class learn a super cool and easy photo transfer technique called gel medium transfers. We’ll use beautiful and thick blocks of wood as the surface to print photos. Choose from tons of cool photos that we pick out. Or if you want to use a personal photo, trade a couple of emails with us before the event and we’ll get your photos ready to be made into art!
For this type of transfer, we use copy paper not the actual photo so no originals will be damaged!
At the end of class, we’ll make sure that your new wood block art is ready to hang.
This event has small bites provided by Greenhouse Catering Co. (also known as Food Music Life Food Truck) + a light featured cocktail of the month that we’ll teach you how to make! BYOB + your own snacks are welcome too.
Join us at Pop Shop America’s craft workshops every first Friday of the month at TXRX Labs Hackerspace. These workshops are lo-fi, beginner friendly, fun and cocktail friendly in which you will create your own stylish and modern design goods. It is in conjunction with TXRX weekly open house so you can also tour the building, say hi and learn about all the awesome equipment they have.
