Spicy Gingersnap Cookies Recipe

These spicy gingersnap cookies have a little extra kick!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup packed Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Clove
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cayenne
  • Sugar to roll cookies in before baking

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, beat together the brown sugar, butter, molasses, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Stir in baking soda, salt cinnamon, ginger, cloves, pepper, and cayenne.  Then mix in the flour.
  • Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease your cookie sheet.
  • Shape dough into round balls and roll in granulated sugar.  Then place on the cookie sheet.
  • Bake 9-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and the interior rises.
  • Cool before serving.
