5 Easy Tips to Maintain Your Small Business

The trick about running and maintaining a small business isn’t just what’s happening right now, it’s planning for the future. 1. Keep Everyday Office Supplies on Hand

The worst thing is when you are constantly running out of the things you need. Did you know that you lose 20% of your time just from switching tasks? When you don’t have extra of the supplies you need, think about how much time you lose in driving back and forth for the supplies in addition to losing time on the project itself. It’s a vicious cycle. That’s why I always keep extra of the following supplies from Office Depot: copy paper, mailing labels, pens, pencils, highlighters, and yellow sticky notes.

2. Get Organized

Use these free printables to keep your office organized. From keeping up to date with your receipts, to filing paperwork, to brainstorming your big picture goals – these printables will keep you on track.

Why is this important? Staying organized will make everything else in your business run more smoothly. If you are not organized, you could lose something important or just waste time looking for the things you need. That’s time you can’t afford to lose!

3. Have a Great at Home Printer

You never know when you need some last-minute printing outside of regular business hours. For example, when it’s Sunday night, you have a proposal due the next day and find a typo. Yikes! Or you get an online order on a Sunday that requests overnight shipping.
