Easy Homemade Lavender Sugar Scrub

Need something luxurious and soothing for the summer? Make this Easy Homemade Lavender Sugar Scrub with just a few simple ingredients. Most of the ingredients you may have around the house already!

This scrub is perfect for exfoliating and removing dead skin. It will make your skin feel lighter, brighter, and super nourished from all of the essential oils.

When I make a scrub, I always use sugar and never salt. Both are great for exfoliating but salt can be very drying. Sugar is best for sensitive skin. You can also make scrubs with Coffee, like this one, which is perfect for smoothing and firming skin.

Supplies for Homemade Lavender Sugar Scrub

Sugar
Almond Oil
Lavender Essential Oil
Dried Lavender Buds
Glass Jar with Lid
Popsicle Stick (or any stirring device that’s clean + disposable)

I got all the supplies at Whole Foods or you could get your supplies here! Once you have your supplies gathered, the recipe is super simple and just takes a few minutes. You could even make this sugar scrub a few minutes before you hop in the shower, and use it on the spot!

Start by making sure your jar is cleaned thoroughly and completely dry. Add sugar until the container is 3/4 full.

Squeeze a small amount of almond oil over the sugar – just enough to moisten the sugar. I used a 6 oz. jar and I used around 1 1/2 tablespoons of almond oil.

Now add around 20 drops of lavender essential oil. If your jar is bigger or smaller than 6 oz. you may want to use a different amount of essential oil. Here’s a handy guide: for less than 1 oz. 5 drops of essential oil or less. For 16 oz. or more, I use 40 or more drops of oil. This can vary based on how strong or how mellow your like your scents. Use your palette along the way to see what works for you!

Last add around 1 tbsp. of lavender buds. I got my lavender buds at my local farmer’s market but you could get yours online. Even though this step is just to make your Homemade Lavender Sugar Scrub cute, this step should not be skipped! It’s totally worth it.

Now that you have your sugar, almond oil, essential oils, and lavender buds added together, all you need to do is stir! You will want to evenly blend all your ingredients and pay careful attention to the bottom and edges of your scrub.
