You know it’s spring time when you start craving liquid sunshine like this! This infused water recipe is the perfect way to stay hydrated when regular water just won’t do. It’s simple to make and it has all the health benefits of drinking water in addition to all the goodness in the grapefruit, meyer lemon, and mint!
It’s so simple to make so let’s get started with our Grapefruit & Mint Infused Water Recipe.
First of all, I highly recommend creating this spa water with organic fruit. Lemons can especially pick up pesticides and since you are soaking the rind in water as a healthy beverage, this is the time to splurge on gorgeous fruit.
Use Soft Grapefruit
Grapefruit is one of those wonderful fruits that gives you clear signs when it’s ripe. When it’s heavy and soft, you know it’s going to be juicy and sweet. Finding a juicy and ripe grapefruit will make this recipe smashingly delicious!
Include Meyer Lemons
For this recipe, Meyer lemons will be so much better than regular lemons. Meyer lemons are sweeter which will help balance the tart flavor of the grapefruit.
Open the Mint
Anytime you are making juice or cocktails with fresh mint, you must try opening up the aromatics before infusing it! To do so, just slap the mint across your hand or on your cutting board. This will help release the scent thereby making a more delicious drink.
Let it Soak
You can serve this Grapefruit & Mint Infused Water fresh or chill it for around an hour before serving. Allowing the ingredients to soak will enrich the flavor, and give it a burst of flavor. But this spa water is best the same day. If you want to keep it longer, remove the fresh fruit and mint after several hours and add a lid to the pitcher.Print
